Métis, and Riel’s supporters’ Perspective
The whites take our (Métis) rights, our families, and now they take our land and livestock. We fear to lose our homes. Our cousins, the Indians, received reservations, where they can settle. What about us? There is no doubt that we are being ignored. Representatives have been sent to plead for our survival, but the government has done nothing.
