Chemical bonds
-
-
Hydrogen bonds: An attraction between a slightly positive hydrogen atom and a slightly negative atom, often oxygen or nitrogen.
-
How Living Things Grow
-
Stem Cells
-
Cancer: Can help with treating cancer like leukemia or lymphoma due to the unique ability stem cells posses, bringing a chance of good and positively active cells to the patient thorugh stem cell transplant.
-
How are thing alive?
-
Oxygen
diatoms
Purpose: are algae that is able to reproduce with a substance called silica, by later undergoing photosynthesis to produce oxygen.
-
What is alive?
Eukaryotic(Animal Cells)
Cell membrane: Are semipermeable which only selects molecules can get in or out. Also keeps homeostasis.
The cell membrane is composed of two phospholipid layers
that help transport things inside and outside the cell
-
-
Ribosomes: They make proteins that are important because that is what DNA codes for. They can be free and attached to other organelles.
Nucleus: It holds genetic material like DNA. The nucleus controls cells activities and inside it has a nucleolus which is where ribosomes can be produced.
-
Smooth ER: Doesn’t have ribosomes attached to it. Smooth ER has roles like desotidifaction and makes lipids.
Golgi apparatus: Ultimate packing center, receives time from transports vesicles that pinched off of the ER.
Mitochondria: Power of the cell, makes ATP energy in a process called cellular respiration.. It runs on glucose.
-
Cytoplasm also acts as an important part of the cell structure. The cytoplasm fills the space between the membrane and nucleus. T
Prokarotic(Plant cells)
-
Vacuoles: Storage of materials. Plants cells can have one large vacuole called central vacuole while animal cells can have smaller several vacuoles.
