appearance, appearance, appearance! That is one of the strongest points as to why students should be required to wear a uniform at school and there are many reasons to support this point. For starters, uniforms give students a sense of belonging to a particular school and it creates an identity for the school in the community. It has also been proven by scientists in Walden university that a school uniform can improve learning by reducing distraction and sharpening focus on schoolwork and making the classroom a more serious environment, allowing students to perform better academically. Students also stop having to worry about how they have to fit in and they stop comparing what other students are wearing. It also affects students mentally because by making all students wear the same uniform they all feel like they are the same and unite and don’t need to worry about the latest trend of the brand new expensive clothes or jewelry that some other student may not be able to afford which makes them feel left out. And Although some students might feel that they will lose their identity, individualism, and self-expression that is the price to pay for making all students feel equal just for 8 hours or less a day. It has been proven that by feeling left out your chances of being depressed are increased dramatically. Not only that but with students dressing differently they often tend to be judged on what they are wearing and it can be a result of bullying, and bullying is the main cause of suicide.
