:red_flag: COATING TECHNOLOGY :black_flag:, electrolyte factor:, cathode:…
-
electrolyte factor:
- sulphuric acid is used for relatively soft, easily dyed coatings
- organic acid is for hard integral coatings
temperature factor:
- 20 °C will give a soft, transparent clear, easily
dyed coating
- 5 °C will give a hard, dense, dull grey coating
(hard anodizing)
principle:
when the current is applied, the water in the electrolyte breaks down and oxygen is deposited at the anode, this oxygen combines with Al to form oxide on surface.
-
-
with DC circuit, anode and cathode are placed in a solution bath where electron movement aids the process
-
-
- al part immersed in acid electrolyte
- switch the power, electrolysis and chemical reaction
- Al oxide layer grows on aluminium
- Dyes is added to porous type
- placed in boiling water to seal the pores( porous type)
-
-
- corrosion and wear resistance
-
-
jewelry plating, low-end gold plating
used in high tech applications such as electronic industry
