What is a product?
-offered to a market for attention, acquisition, use or consumption that may satisfy a need or want.
-includes physical objects, services, places, organisations and ideas
4 levels of a product:
Core product: refers to what buyer is really buying group. In hospitality, it seldom refers to just a physical object, but rather an experience that contains a whole range of problem-solving services.
Facilitating product: refer to services or goods that must be present for the buyer to use the core product.
Supporting product: extra products offered to add value to the core product and differentiate it from the competition.
Augmented product: additional customer services and benefits built around the core and actual products
Examples: accessibility, atmosphere, customer interaction with other customers
