There should be a formal software application acquisition policy.
Develop IS
Proposal – formal documentation of requested project.
Steering Committee reviews each proposal.
Feasibility Group studies potential projects.
Development Process
Business Process Analysis
- Use various modeling techniques and select the best model.
Development and Testing
- Create libraries as secure places for code and data.
Prevent destruction and alterations.
Security and Control
- Project team must plan security and control features in development.
Conversion and Interface
- Conversion: put existing data in correct format for the new system.
Interfaces: Bridge the developed application to related external applications.
Training and Documentation
- Training takes place early, be all-encompassing, throughout project life cycle.
