By making a mood light, you will need to use the laser cutter, soldering, and you should be aware of:
- Electrical equipment must be isolated from the main electricity supply when not in use.
- Students should seek permission from the supervisor before using this equipment.
- Always check that the laser cutter is in good working order.
- Check all settings carefully before commencing any laser cutting operation.
- Check that any external exhaust system is turned on.
- Secure and support the workpiece using clamps or bench vices. Do not use wooden supports.
1-5 points is about Laser, 6-10 points is about Soldering
- Ensure that there are no flammable gases, liquids or other materials in the work vicinity.

- Do not use soldering equipment in confined spaces, or where the ventilation is considered not to be adequate.
- Where a ventilation system is available, make sure it is operating properly.

- What does LED stand for? LED stands for Light Emitting Diode.
- What is the purpose of a capacitor? Capacitors are widely used in electronic circuits for blocking direct current while allowing current to pass. In filter networks, they smooth the output of power supplies.
- How does our use of electronic systems affect the environment? E waste will release toxic air which can damage the atmosphere and pollution the water which will kill the sea animals and plants.
The needs of my client are: A mood lamp that is going to be able to change colors. The picture of the mood lamp has to be something about a dog, snake, or another animal that the client likes. It can also be an animal that is in some video games, because the client likes them.
- Can shape influence light? We acquire knowledge of three-dimensional objects from their appearance, which in turn is determined not just by their intrinsic three-dimensional structure but also by other, more accidental factors, such as their location amongst other objects, properties of the ambient illumination and the image formation process itself. Since many objects are recognized purely by their shape, having a conception of an object as a distinct entity means being able to recognize its shape in a variety of settings even though in each case it may appear dramatically different.
- What systems can be used to create light? Two of the most common LED lighting systems are Edge-lit and Direct-lit. Both offer different visual appearances, space requirements, and overall system performance.
An Edge-lit system is one in which there are LEDs along at least one edge of some type of light guide.
Direct-lit systems are straightforward in that they use arrays of LEDs that are directed outward to light the system.
