I will be able to describe that structural changes to genes(mutations) may or may not result in changes to proteins and... if there are changes to proteins they may be:
Positive
An example of a beneficial change to the organism may be a strain of bacteria becoming resistant to an antibiotic.
An organism can be homozygous dominant, if it comes in two copies of the same dominant allele, or homozygous it means that an organism has two different alleles of a gene.

An organism can be homozygous if it carries two copies of the same dominant allele; it also carries the same recessive allele(if that made sense)
