Materials
Food
Fats, oils and spreads, butter, small amount needed
Fruit and vegetables, give you vitamins
Proteins, fish, egg, nuts, pulses, help build and repair tissue
Fibre, cereals, help your digestive system
Carbohydrates, bread, rice, pasta, potato, give you energy
Textiles
Cotton, natural fibre, grown on a plant
Silk, natural fibre, from silk worms
Wool, natural fibre, from sheep and alpacas

Papers and boards
Corrugated cardboard is used for strong boxes, or for storing pizzas, as it is a good insulator of heat. It is very light and very strong.

Tracing paper, is very thin and see through it is used by architects and graphic designers.
Wood
Manufactured boards are man-made, they do not grow. Made from small pieces of wood, which is glued together in large sheets. MDF, Plywood and Chipboard
Hardwood trees lose their leaves, grow slowly, are really strong. Oak, Ash and Beech.
Softwood trees do not lose their leaves, are evergreen. They grow fast, and look like christmas trees. Pine, Larch and Cedar
Metals

Non-Ferrous metals, don't contain iron and don't rust. They are shiny and flexible. Copper is used in electrical cable as it is strong and flexible.
Ferrous metals, contain iron and rust. They are really strong and steel is used for construction.
Plastics
ThermoFORMing plastics, can be recycled and reheated and made into other things, like rPET or HDPE used for bottle caps
Thermosetting plastics, are things when they are made can not be reheated and made into other things like Melamine
