Renaissance - Coggle Diagram
Renaissance
Modern Art :
-
Uniqueness: 1 because it doesn't seem very different and it honestly just seem generic with a simple y.
Skill and Technique: 2 because it looks like it is separate pieces that come together to make the y but it isn't getting a higher rating because it is just a y.
Renaissance Art:
-
Uniqueness: 5 because I’ve never seen anything like it and the details are very special.
Fulfilled intent: 3 because I think the artist meant for there to be intent behind it but it's confusing.
The Modern Art is more of a simple piece of art work while the Renaissance one has a lot more detail. The Renaissance one looks like it took hours upon hours while the modern ones looks like it took 5 minutes.
Humanism
-
Before the 14th century people solely believed they were here to live for god but in the 14th century people started to question that. Which is where humanism came in. Humanism is important because it centered around 2 beliefs: individualism and secularism. This changing of thinking really sparked the change that was the Renaissance. Which was thinking outside of the box and putting more value on thinking for yourself and coming up with new ideas.
Renaissance lasted from the 14th century to the 17th century. The Renaissance took place in Italy and was a European Culture. It took place in Italy because Italy was centered around wealth and power.
Some of the major people: Leonardo DaVinci, Medici Family, Michelangelo, William Shakespeare.
The Renaissance is very important because it was where the creative thinkers were born. The Renaissance changed the way everyone thought and truly formed curiosity and the encouragement to think differently. It is where everyone felt the need to start thinking for themselves and formed the society we know today.
The Medici Family
The Medici family ruled the city of Florence during the Renaissance. And they impacted the Renaissance majorly because they allowed for the art and humanism to grow and become what it was. They also put a lot of these "new thinkers" in power and gave them the resources and money to explore and be creative and these people influenced the Renaissance.
The Medici became rich through banking and commerce. And the Medici rose to power from their connections with the Pope. They had a deal that the bank of the catholics would be the bank of the Medici family. This connection with the Pope gave them great status and power.
The Renaissance was full of new artists because there was a high demand of art. It is where artist truly started making a living just on being an "artist". And they were held with celebrity status. People started thinking for themselves and everyone wanted to come up with something new and different which then led to more and more artist.
I think ever since the Renaissance we are constantly in a renaissance. Everyone is always trying to think for themselves and create new things that have never been seen before. So I would say we have always been in a sort of Renaissance because art, music, poetry, it all is constantly changing and reforming.
