Anadiplosis
Definition: Repetition of the final words of a sentence or line at the beginning of the next.
Example: "we were so close at one time. Had adventures. What adventurers"?
Antithesis
Definition: A contrast or opposition between two things.
Example: "Sometimes he did and some times he didn't"
Asyndeton
Definition: Omission of conjunctions that ordinary joins words or clauses
Example: You know what, movies magazines, computer games.
Anaphora
Definition: The repetition of a word or a phrase at the beginning of successive clauses.
Example:"shes turned on the juice and disappeared. She does nearly forty ya know. Heard shes got a steal plated bull".
Epanalepsis
Example: "Then they shot him again like they cant stand his guts. Maybe it wasn't them who shot him in the first place.
Definition: Repetition after intervening words.
Epistrophe
Definition: The repetition of a word at the end of a successive clauses or sentences.
Example:"You know what, Movies magazines, computer games. All the stuff you buy at the mall. Books. Books?"
Polysyndeton
Example: "but we were passing the police station and across from weedies just then and a knot came in my throat.
Definition: The use of several conjunctions such as and, or, for, and but to join together clauses in a sentence.
