Waves: A disturbance that carries energy, but not masses.
In a transverse wave the disturbance is moving up and down and the wave is moving left and right, the disturbance is perpendicular to the direction of the wave
-
In a perpendicular wave, the particles are vibrating back and forth in the same direction the wave is moving(up & down)
-
-
Examples of waves:
- Water
- Electromagnetic
- Sound
- Micro
- Seismic
- Pressure
- X-ray
-
Frequency:
The number of oscillations in a certain period of time. The greater the number of oscillations per second, the higher the frequency, the more energy the wave can carry.
There are 2 types of frequency:
- Low frequency
- High frequency
