Formative- Process of gathering evidence of student learning, providing feedback, and adjust if need be.
Quizzes, Homework, question and answer sessions
Diagnostic- these assessments are used to aid the teacher in planning accordingly to uncover strengths and opportunities to see what and how the content should be taught.
Pre- assessments, games to encourage participation but also shows what is known
Interim, Benchmark - These are administered to see where the students are in their learning. Are they on pace to be prepared for future standardized test.
Content Focus Assessments, 6 -9 Week District Assessments
Summative- These are given to students periodically throughout the year to gage student learning at the end of units or a chunk of content. Impact to students grade
Semester Exams, Unit Exams
Performance - this is an assessment where the students apply thier learning while performing a task.
Modeling or teaching other students, creating a visual or poster that allows the student to be creative .
