Formative
Formative assessment These are regularly throughout a unit, chapter, or term to help track how they students' learning is improving.
Exit Tickets Students complete the exit ticket, based on what the teachers want them to answer on a paper or notecard. They turn it in to the teacher, as a ticket to go to their next class.
Kahoot Quiz Teachers can make quizzes on kahoot. This helps the students to feel like they are competing for who can get the highest grade. It is a fun way to assess what they have learned.

Summative
Summative assessments evaluate student learning at the end of a unit, and they have a high grade or point value.
Final projects or portfolios Students could create a project showing what they have learned from the unit to be turned in as a summative assessment.
Midterm or Final exams This can be given to the students to assess what they have learned through a period of time.
Interim/Benchmark
Interim/Benchmark Assessments Educators use this type to help evaluate where students are in their learning progress. It also helps to determine whether they are on track so they can perform well on the future assessments, such as standardized tests or end-of-course exams

6 to 9 Week Assessments These are given after the end of big units, so make sure the students are on the right track, and helps to prepare them for the STARR tests
Diagnostic
Diagnostic assessment is a form of pre-assessment. This allows teachers to determine the students' individual strengths, weaknesses, knowledge, and skills they have before they are taught the material. It is mainly used to diagnose difficulties and to guide lesson and curriculum planning for the students
KWL Chart Students can fill out the K, for what they know, then the W for what they want to know, what they have questions about, and the L for what they learned.
Think-Pair-Share This is a way to get students to reveal what they know about a topic. To assess what the students know, have students discuss their ideas in pairs, and then to share them with the large group

Performance
Performance assessment measures students' ability to apply the skills they learned in a unit, and create something. Typically, it is to challenge students to use their higher-order thinking skills to create a product or complete a process
Presentation Students can be put in groups, given a topic or category form the unit, and they would need to create a presentation to share with the class about what they have learned.
Final projects or portfolios Students could create a project showing what they have learned from the unit to be turned in as a summative assessment.
