Formative
Definition: Assess students to get feedback to use for modifying and adjusting instruction. These
assessments are low stakes, so they have little to no grade value.
Pre-test: Assessment over content that has not been covered in already, to assess prior knowledge.
3-2-1: Students will write down 3 things they learned, 2 things they found interesting, and one thing that they need clarification on.
Interim/Benchmark
Defn: See where students are in their learning; Determine if they are on track with their learning to do well on future assessments.

Defn: Evaluate student learning at the end of a unit. These are usually high stakes, so they have a high-grade value.

Exit Ticket: Used at the end of class to see what students learned and what they didn't from the lesson.
