Identifying and helping Struggling Students in my classroom

Reteach, extend and intervene with students based on the data
Review the evidence learning from assessments and weekly small meetings with your professional learning communities (PLC) to look at data :red_flag:
Create assessments, tools and plans for extensions and interventions : :
Whole Class instruction and small group instruction :
:pencil2:Collect evidence of learning through formative assessments
:pencil2:Whole class instruction and target small group interventions based on summative assessments during allocated time slot where no new material is being taught
Review progress of targeted intervention after 6-8 weeks of consistent instruction with small PLC to discuss next steps
If more intervention is required, bring the interventionist on board, (learning support, speech/language etc..) and increase the number of day's, time, or working in even smaller groups. Specialist teachers and assistants to push into classroom and pull students out.
Review targeted intervention again after 6-8 weeks with your small PLC
:pencil2:Whole Class instruction. Targeted small group intervention 2-4 students during the time allocated but with an increased number of days and time
Progress continued to be monitored after 6-8 weeks with your samll PLC and interventionist
Intervention plan is written if needed
Support continues based on progress monitoring. Student is identified as a Tier 2 level of support depending on the intensity of the support needed to close the academic gap
Schedule a meeting to review progress and determine next steps with parents, classrooms teachers, learning support, counselors, speech/language, administrator.
:pencil2:Whole class instruction with targeted small group intervention and/or 1:1 instruction. Possibility of an exemption block, Psych Ed Evaluation after 4-6 weeks in exemption block
