IEP Implementation
Teacher will:
-monitor the student in and outside the classroom
-document their progress
-assess according to the IEP
-keep parents, school, department and other teachers notified on a consistent basis.
-provide additional assistance and support tailored to the students needs
-additional support may be utilized, such as the school counselor or outside-school services provided by the parents
Technology highly encouraged to ensure effective IEP implantation with emphasis on individual, targeted instruction in a student-centered environment.
IEP will ensure targeted instruction for the student. This may include specific tutoring outside of classroom, differentiated activities inside the classroom that differ from the activities of their peers, and additional scaffolding (ie extra class time to complete assignments, additional instruction in their native language).
Teaching assistant will be integral in implenetation of IEP. They will be given specific instructions on how to implement IEP, especially when the teacher is busy with general classroom instruction. Teacher and teaching assistant will confer on a regular basis.
Alternative teaching methods and tools, such as differentiation, scaffolding, total physical response, alternative assignments, will be integral. Teacher will be flexible and alter teaching methods as dictated by the student's needs.
Teacher will learn and develop general and specific special education knowledge pertaining to their SNS students, and implement this knowledge in addressing their needs.
