how one gets addicted
• For example, the causes of addiction are many and vary from addict to addict, but things such as identity and early life stress can influence one’s decision to engage in addictive behavior.
• As a Neuroscience and psychology major, I am interested in this topic because addiction is, at its core, a deeply psychological relationship. This relationship can be between the addict and their addiction :
• Addiction is also neurologically based, and it rewires the brain, which is why some substance users can’t just “kick the habit.”
• Looking at how one gets addicted and the different dimensions of it can help people understand why this is an important conversation. Most believe addiction is a choice one makes that they can stop at any time, so providing these dimensions will help depict how multifaceted addiction is.

Miscellany

• These aspects are all well represented in my research and work together to tell many sides of the complex story of addiction. These aspects provide a basis for the conversation, and they work together to directly offer solutions on the ability to solve the issue. I also feel like these four aspects appeal to rhetoric in a balanced way that will help strengthen my arguments.
• By focusing on a very linear view of addiction, my writing can benefit the way others understand this issue.
• This project will not only teach us about how and why someone can become addicted but also just how powerful language and terminology usage can be.
