- - - - 3 ELL students struggling with language and are at different reading levels will focus on:
        
        Vocabulary: Students will start by circling or highlighting words they don't know. They will then use a dictionary to help them to define the word and then draw a picture associated with it. Students will look up synonyms to help them replace the words in the reading with them and can even translate into their native languages. They will then practice the new vocabulary by creating flashcards and playing memory games.

        Flashcard Activities
      - 2 special needs students who have little to no comprehension of the topic and need to be tested further for special needs will focus on:

Students will use the word map worksheet. They will then practice the new vocabulary by creating flashcards and playing memory games.

        **Students also have the option to use technology to either listen to the story as they read along, create flashcards through an app like quizlet, etc., all depending on their needs.

    - - For students who have mastered understanding of the vocabulary, they will then move on to sequencing the reading to work on comprehension.
        
        Sequencing Worksheet
      - For students who haven't yet mastered, they will continue to review the vocabulary. This time, they will focus on quizzing each other on fill in the blank questions (teacher provided). They will use mini whiteboards to race one another to answer what vocabulary word would most appropriately fit in the gap.
- - - - For students who have mastered, they will move on to creating their own task card questions. They will then use these questions to quiz each other and use mini whiteboards to record their answers. **Students also have the option to use technology to create their questions and test one another using an app like Kahoot!
      - For students who haven't yet mastered the skill, they will spend more time either working on sequencing and drawing out each part of the story, or they will work on narrowing down which questions from the task cards they still don't understand and continue to quiz one another on those.
