Assessments
Interim/Benchmark: occurs throughout the school year or periodically. This assessment involves minuscule feedback and more formal mediums.

6 weeks test: Students are tested every six weeks over the various subjects/content covered in the current 6 weeks.
Performance: are authentic assessments that involve the students creating something to show comprehension.
Poster board: Students create a visual representation of their comprehension in a chosen subject area.
Portfolios: Show a running record/collection of student work that highlights comprehension through multiple creation.
Diagnostic: a form of pre-assessments that gages students' knowledge and guides further instruction.
Scales: Students rate their own content knowledge on scale from 1-5. This allows the teachers to supplement additional work in commonly lacking areas
Pre-test: Students take a low stakes, typically multiple choice) test that gauge their content knowledge. This allows the teacher to adjust instruction based on student answers.

Formative: guides the learning process/instruction by addressing students' knowledge. These assessments collect evidence, evaluate performances, provide feedback, and adjust instruction
Exit Tickets: The teacher poses a question/task at the end of the class. Then students turn in their short response as they exit the classroom.
Think-Pair-Share: Students receive material and work independently. Then the students get in pairs and share what they know with each other.
Summative: typically occurs at the end of a module and involves review, reflection and sampling. Teachers must also review test taking skills in order to reduce testing anxiety.
Essay: Students show content comprehension through open ended response question(s). There may be some feedback involved if the essay is not turned in at the end of the year.
Final exams: Students are tested over the year's or semester's content. There is typically no feedback involved and is formatted as multiple choice.
