Gameplay
Timed rounds, eg 60 secs, to survuve through
Pass a round, go to next level
Levels
More tortoise spawn in
Increased number of actions to defend your crops!
Catapult; shoots a tortoise back over the wall
Hole in ground; tortoise fall in, others can climb over
Slippy surface, can't get traction, but can be pushed by other tortoise
ramps; slip down
Difficult terrain; eg lego on ground, takes longer to traverse
Disguises; 2d boards put up hide crops from certain angle
MiniGame idea for demos etc (STRETCH)
Straight to boss level with all the funn stuff, timer system instead of countdown, try and survive the longest and get a high score
What counts as 'defending' crops?
Could be you only need one left to pass a level
Get a rating depending on how many lettuce are left at the end?
One lettuce fully eaten and you're out?
Story
Told through small cutscene animations
One at start before the menu, skippable, shows farmer happily looking over grops, then noticing oncoming tortoise and getting ready for action!!
New scene for each new action
Art and aniamtion
Low poly, flat colours, quite cute and non threatening
Comical violence, all wiley coyote elaborate traps
Little animations for each action?(STRETCH)
would also be useful to add to the time management element; some actions are more effective but take longer to complete
Other shite
UI
Radar in the middle gives a top down view of field to keep an eye on the tortoise you can't see
Timer in the top corner counts down time until end of level
Need a leaderboard for minigame (STRETCH)
Grading system for each level (if I use that mechanic for winning a level)
Lettuce
Health bar to show how eaten they are? eg can withstand 5 bites before being completely gone
Sounds
Calm, happy music
maybe speeds up as the level draws to a close to add to the excitement and tension?
SFX needed for the following:

Running around the world
Buttons and UI
Win/lose sound effect
