Closed System to Keep 20 People Alive
Food System
Have a water reservoir near your area.
Plant 300 square meters of potatoes, and then 50 square meters of watermelon.
We need around 15 square meters of soil, so in total, we probably need 350 square meters of plantable soil alone, fueled with human feces.
Have some emergency seeds in case of a bad plant disease.
Grow alfalfa and corn, 200 square meters of alfalfa and 300 of corn, to provide food and oxygen to cows
Farm chickens from the corn to eat, and to get eggs from.
Farm cows for food and milk, grow them with alfalfa and corn from the Food System.
Oxygen System
Plant at least ten fir trees.
Use an oxygen monitor to check the oxygen levels daily. If the oxygen levels are too low, plant more trees.
This system works with the food system because there are plants that produce oxygen in the food system.
Bring liquid oxygen and nitrogen just in case trees aren't releasing enough oxygen.
Water System
Bring a reverse osmosis machine to purify your water, powered by the sun.
Bring a water reclaimer to recycle any used water (such as in urine), powered by the sun.
Have a system that traps the water underneath the soil, filters it, and then dumps it back into the reservoir.
Make parts of the biosphere water trappers, where water in the air condenses and then is filtered and dumped back into the reservoir.
Since sunlight is allowed in a closed ecosystem, solar power can be used for most of the energy.
Solar batteries can be used to store some of the solar energy.
Heating and Cooling System
Sunlight = warmth
Use the sunlight to power electrical heaters.
Can use blankets
Use solar power to power air conditioning system
Spray water mist in the air to make colder.
Disposal System
Make a sanitary hole and dump everything that cannot be recycled into it.
Mostly everything will be recycled though
Feces will be used as fertilizer for the food system crops.
Energy System
Use solar energy to power the biosphere's necessary actions, and also to provide homes energy to live in and also comfort to be in.
Shelter System
Build nice eco friendly homes that won't fall apart due to weathering and are durable for an extended stay period.
