- - - - Olanzapine is a dopamine D1, D2, D4, 5-HT2, histamine-1, and muscurenic-receptor antagonist. It treats mainly schizophrenia and other related psychoses and mania in bipolar. Route of administration includes PO or fortnightly long acting IMI. Side effects include, lethargy, weight gain, issues with movement, restlessness, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, dizziness and hormonal side effect.
    - - Haloperidol is an antagonist. It is used mainly for schizophrenia, mania and hypomania in bipolar disorder, restlessness and agitation in elderly and for the management of mental and behavioral problems such as self-mutilation, aggression and hyperactivity in patients with organic brain damage and the intellectually disabled.
    - - Clozapine is a dopamine D1 and D2, 5-HT2A, alpha1-adrenoreceptor and muscurenic-receptor antagonist. It treats psychosis in those who are not responding well to other antipsychotics. This is the only antipsychotic proven to prevent self-harm. There are more side effects than others with this one which include: weight gain, sedation, sedation, excess saliva production and low white blood cell count.
    - - Resperidone is an antagonist. It is mostly used for acute or chronic psychosis and mania. Route of administration is PO or a fortnightly long acting IMI. Side effects include, weight gain, hormonal side effects, lethargy, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and blurred vision, restlessness and issues with movement.
    - - Quetiapine is an antagonist. In large doses, quetiapine is used as an antipsychotic but can be used in smaller doses for sedation and anxiety. It is mainly used for schizophrenia and other psychoses; it treats mania and depression in bipolar disorder. Side effects include: feeling drowsy, feeling sleepy, dizzy or tired, suicidal thoughts, dry mouth and weight gain.
