This book was sad and something I would have never have picked up on my own. This book shows the culture similarities and differences.

Reflection: this quote made me read this sentence twice and really relate to it. Secrets are rarely kept.
reflection: I chose this quote becasue at this point she feels completely useless and I have related to this. Sometimes I feel no better than the pots and pans.

These words reveal how much Laila has lost and the depth of her pain when she feels the absence of Mariam in her new life.

This quote shows how far Mariam and Laila have come so far and rely on each other, they have became family. They have both lost so much but they stick together against rasheed
