When ?
l'indice de masse corporelle (IMC) is a tool to assess the degree of obesity it indicates the ideal weight according to the size, and thus allows to determiner when one is obese the normal value of IMC 20 to 25 in men and 19 to 24 in women.
overweight when a person has a IMC between 25 and 29.9
moderate obesity when a person has a IMC between 30 and 35
severe obesity when a person has a IMC between 35 and 40
of morbid obesity for a IMC from 40
