ALLPORT THEORY
STRENGTHEN
- Strict reliance on objective and statistical data
- Has no bias compared to other theories.

- Easy to use and have a number of assessment devices.
WEAKNESSES
- Poor predictor of the future.
- Does not address development of the traits.
- Does not provide a way to change bad traits
CATTEL THEORY
STRENGTHEN
- There was no psycho sexual conflict.
- relied heavily on the previous works of scientists in the field.
WEAKNESSES
- unsure of the reliability of the ideas.
- hard to replicate all 16 of Cattel's personality factors.
- difficult to interpret because too many personality.
BIG FIVE THEORY

- universally applicable across cultures.
ex: successfully works in many environments.
- provides evidences and reference point for substantive research.
ex: most personality researchers currently use one form of Big Five Model.
- provide comprehensive coverage of personality.
- personality traits tend to be constant over time.
- provide more through descriptions and assessments.
WEAKNESSES
- not explain all of human personality.
ex: neglect other personality traits such as religiousity, sense of humor and thriftiness
- do not explain why an individual behaves in a certain way.
- require personal observations or subjective self-reports to measure.
ex: bias and falsification.

EYSENK THEORY
STRENGTHEN
- more quantifiable; it was therefore perceived to be more “legitimate”.
ex: PEN model offers causal explanation and simply description of personality traits.
- takes into account both nature and nurture.
ex: certain personality traits combined with conditioning and socialisation during childhood in order to create our personality.
- clear and concise levels. it can easily understand.
ex: PEN model discriminates intellectual processes from emotional.
- strong experiment approach to the study of personality. so it is a good role model for other personality theories
WEAKNESSES
- failed to produce evidence that introverts and extroverts condition differently.
- not a good predictor of future behaviors.
