Gossip, secrets and lies
On the very first page, Karen establishes that the world of Bayview High is ruled by a network of gossip, secrets and lies. the title is not saying that it's just not one protagonists, but all four, who are lying to each other and themselves.
Love
between Bronwyn and Nate is there love for example, ''I think you're hot, smart and funny. you do the right thing often than you give yourself credit for. I like your horrible taste in movies. I'd be proud to be your girlfriend. (chapter 19)
