1.1 Estadística es la ciencia que estudia conjunto de datos y su interpretación en términos matemáticos
1.2 Historia de la Estadística: desde los comienzos de la civilización han existido formas sencillas de estadística. Los babilonios, luego los egipcios la utilizaban para contar numeros de animales, personas o cosas. En China existían registros numéricos 2000 años AC. En 1662 aparece el primer estudio estadístico de población.
1.3. Aplicaciones de la Estadística: en nuestros días a estadística se ha convertido en un método efectivo para muchas ciencias; para describir con exactitud los valores de los datos económicos, políticos, sociales, psicologicos, biológicos y físicos. Es una herramienta indispensable para la toma de decisiones.
