Shutter release: The button used to capture the photo once the desired focus and landscape has been found.
Mode dial: This is used to change settings from "Sports" to "Portrait", for example. This changes if the camera takes one photo at a time, or a series of photos at once. This may also change lighting from darker to lighter, lighter to darker, etc.
Focus ring: Makes the camera focus as much, or as little, as desired. It can make it easier to focus as you move closer to your desired model or landscape.
-
Aperture: This is the size of the opening in the camera lens. This helps to determine how much, or how little, light will be allowed into the photos.
Aspect Ratio: This is how large or how small you want the photo to be, or even rectangular/square.
Bokeh: This is the lack of focus that a photo may posses, especially when photographing lights or orbs. This can give an interesting or beautiful effect when done correctly.
Focal Length: This is how far away a camera may be from the desired model or landscape, and still be able to focus well. If a photographer is too close or too far away from something, zooming in or out may make the camera quality decline.
-
Angles: While this may sound like a simple concept, angles can make the difference between an "okay" photo and a phenomenal photo.
