- wake up
- lie in bed = stay in bed
- get up: get out of bed and put on clothes
- go to bed
- go to sleep/ fall asleep very quickly
- have a late night ( early night) => oversleep ( sleep too long) => may be late for work
- have a sleep = for a short period in the afternoon
- have a lie-in at weekend: stay in bed until later e.g 9.30 a.m
