Subhash Chandra Bose was under house arrest in Calcutta but managed to escape in 1941
In Tokyo SB took over the leadership of the Indian independence movement from rash Behari Bose
PARTITION OF INDIA
Feb 1947 B said Indians would have power by June 1948
Lord Mountbatten arrived to plan transfer of power
community riots took turns in parts of Punjab
B rule in India came to an end on 15 Aug 1947
MKG was assassinated on 30 jan 1948
Constitution of India was adopted on 26 nov 1949
QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT 1942
The presence of the Japanese army was a serious threat to Indias' security
On 8th Aug 1942 MKG gave the ppl the mantra of Do or Die
On 9th Aug MKG and all important leaders were arrested. CONG was banned.
The arresting made many Hartals and processions take place.
Leaderless the QUIM took place differently in many parts.
The government Lathi charged and fired upon the people.
The brutality of the B angered the locals and they reacted violently. (Police station, post and govt buildings destroyed)
To end the brutality the army came in. 10 000 peeps were killed. QIM ended in a short time.

1939 Bose resigned from Cong
Cap Mohan Singh organised INA
Bose became the supreme commander
1944 in a meeting in singapre Bose took an oath to free India
in 1944 INA crossed the Indo Burma border and liberated Imphal and Kohima- victory shortlivee
Subhash Chandra Bose was killed in a plane crash on the way to Tokyo
