What does it do to the body?
Vasoconstriction->pain->swelling->muscle spasm->metabolism->Nerve function-><-increased muscle strength and ROM
When should we use it?
~Cold Therapy should be used for ALL acute injuries~
Don't apply cold for longer than 30 min
3-4 applications a day
Must have 1 1/2-2 hours between applications
Contradictions for CRYO
Hypersensitive to cold
Impaired circulation
sensory problems
Heart Disease(causes BP fluctuations)
Struggles regulating body temp
5 Stages of Injury Healing
