Gender roles
Women were classed as a weaker sex, who needed protecting by a man
Once a women was married she was expected to have children, which was an honour. They generally held a child every two years because of high death rates at birth
Women weren't allowed to perform on stage until 1660, before that women were played by young boys with high voices
Only boys attended schools and education, it wasn't allowed for girls
Religion

The two religions in England were Catholic and
Protestantism, it was legal to be Catholic but it was
illegal to practice catholicism
People believed that priests were the link
between God and the people. Pope's were
Appointed by God, who devoted there life to god
Protestants believed churches should be simple and plain, when Catholics believed they celebrated god so they decorated their church's with shrines and statues
