Beings & Stakeholders
Myself, Mom, Dad- We were all directly affected with the flooding losing anything within the house that was 9ft or lower. The emotional connection to how my mom was affected lead to the conversation and connection to the devastation with my father who made all the relief efforts involving his company possible.
Norman Smith Equipment- This is a stakeholder due to the resources, time, and effort of the company; put in to the relief effort in the surrounding areas of Houston. Their belief was that it was more important to rebuild the communities affected by the hurricane, especially the communities of their employees. By doing this it it creates a better relationship with both the employees of the company, as well as the communities the company operates in.
Employees at Smith Equipment- The employees are the ones who are going out to the affected communities helping with the clean up. They connected with the communities affected because these are the areas are also where they live. Their houses and lives were also directly affected by the flooding.
Residents From: Kingwood, Victoria, Katy, Woodlands, Spring, and Conroe Texas-
These areas are the areas where Norman Smith Equipment sent out all the equipment to help with the clean up process. These areas were also the areas where the employees lived at or, were some of the worse areas affected. These areas also have a high concentration of people living there. The belief was not only would the employees be willing to help due to these area being the communities that they live in, but they also would be able to help out a greater amount of people affected.

Pathos
The Pathos between my conversation with my father and I was the emotional appeal of bringing up famous athletes and first responders attempting to help with hurricane Harvey in order to create a emotional connection with the situation. By doing this, it started the conversation about what can we do to also get involved? Knowing how much my dad is involved in sports, as well as the community, once he saw the videos of the local athletes as well as seeing the texts from my mom, emotionally he knew he had to do something to help out.
Ethos
The Ethos I showed in the text was my knowledge of the situation and what other people were going through in order to come forth with an idea to my father. This lead him to shutting down his company entirely until the community was helped out first. As well as paying his employees for their time and effort in the clean up of the different communities
Disposition
The Disposition would be the argument I was making to my dad to help out with the post hurricane efforts in any way possible. In stead of donating money to certain efforts we decided to help by supplying heavy equipment for multiple days in order to help with the cleanup of multiple areas surrounding Houston. My dad completely shut down his company in order to help the community affected by this disaster. It is one thing to donate money but when you do, you never directly see or fully know where that money is going. We came to the conclusion to not donate money, but directly getting involved with the efforts to clean and rebuild the community's. With the company having the equipment and workforce to immediately impact the community with no restrictions, time frame, or incentive factors besides helping the community in such a tragic time.
Structure
The structure of this is a Text message
The importance of this text conversation between my mom and I, was that it was what initially got me emotionally involved with this situation. This lead to me driving back to Texas to which I had a 37 hour drive to think about all the ways I could potentially help out.
"J.J. Watt raises $12 million for flood relief"
The Style of the conversation with my mom is emotional. Losing everything and seeing everyone around you in the same situation of disaster, is something that rips people apart. At this moment in time my mom was extremely emotional.
The Style of this message was both emotional but also passionate. I had a goal of helping my local community, while my dad had a different idea because our community wasn't the only one affected. We both were passionate to make a difference and due to the resources and capability of my dads company we were able to make a difference all over the city of Houston.
