American Born Chinese (Ching wang (Where does he come from? (He comes from…

- - - - I think this because for example on page 24 Jin had the transformer and played with it while he was in the car. Also on page 26, there is an image of Jin wang playing transformers with his friends.
      - A different reason why I think that Transformers interest Jin is because he wants to change and transformers can change easily.
  - - - I think that this is because JIng wang really wants to be seen as an American person and not as a Chinese person because he was born in the states.
      - I also think that he might act like this because he gets bullied by his classmates because he is Chinese and therefore he wants to be seen as American to be like the rest. For example on page32 Someone says" Stay away from my dog". or on page 31 the same person says "My mom said that Chinese people eat dogs".
  - - - I think that this is because he wants to be considered as a american person and not as an chinese person.
- - - - I think Kung-Fu interests him because in the legend about the monkey king it said that he fought against the Tigers and he might wanted to be seen as the strong leader that is not stoppable. (page 10).
  - - - I think that this may be because he before he was not being able to go to the party of gods he thought that he had everything he wanted and that it could not be better but then, as they said the he is just a monkey he realized that as a monkey he is not going too get accepted and therefor he wants to change. "Look, you may be a King- you may be a Deity- But you are still a monkey".(page 15)
        
        He interacted with the other monkeys in a nice and mature way, but as soon as he was not able to enter the party of the gods, he was being aggressive and hurt a lot of humans/gods.
        
        I think that this might be because he was not used to getting things denied and therefore he was not understanding the situation correctly.
        
        In the book he is portrayed as a normal monkey, that stinks and doesn't have shoes. He had a red scarf on to make him stand out and to make him look more dangerous and aggressive looking. Also the rest of his body was in secondary colors because the red should stand out.
- - - - For example throughout the whole chapter chin-kee was talking about and to this cousin's science teacher.
        
        I think that he is interested in America because he was not quite sure how to behave and looked really interested.
  - - - I think that he acts like this because first the author wants us to know and see him as a Chinese person and second because he is new to America and wants to find out/try out new things.
  - - - I think that this is because he is new to American and is really exited and wants to learn new things and does not know 100% how to behave.
