Man vs Supernatural
Example from literature - The book Frankenstein because the protagonist, Victor Frankenstein, creates a supernatural monster out of body parts that is angry at his creator for creating him. Frankenstein tracks him down, and kills everyone closest to him. Victor then commits suicide.
Example from history - Anneliese Michel because she was reported to be possessed. She hated seeing religious objects, drank her own urine, ate bugs, etc. She was still denied exorcism by the Catholic Church. It was eventually granted and after a year of dehydration and starvation, died. Was she really possessed? We will never really know.
Definition - A character or person that goes against a being or thing that is not normal in some way shape or form.
Example from science - The ancient Greeks' society in general was based on myths and the Greek Gods, so scientific discoveries were attributed to the gods. Some even condemned the gods, which didn't end too well for them or their supposed discovery.
Man vs Nature
Definition - When a person or character goes against nature. This mainly includes people vs animals, but can include things like natural disasters.
Example from history - The Krakatoa eruption of 1883 because it was one of the biggest, most influential, and most destructive eruptions of all time. It killed over 36000 people with a force of over 10000 times stronger than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
Example from literature - The book Moby Dick because the whale (Moby Dick) is infamous for destroying ships and it is a very dangerous whale that has killed many people. In the book, the whale kills everyone except for one person and destroys the ship.
Example from science - In 1960, the first voyage to the deepest part of the ocean, The Mariana Trench, was made on the Trieste by Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh. This voyage was extremely difficult for many reasons. Two of which being the fact that the pressure is more than one thousand times the standard atmospheric pressure and they did't know the animals that were down there. There could've been animals not even discovered yet, and they wouldn't have known about it.
Man vs Technology
Example from a movie - Avengers:Age of Ultron because the main plot is that a robot created by Tony Stark rebels and becomes one of the most powerful beings in the universe. What ensues afterwards is a huge battle between the Avengers and Ultron.
Example from history - This is fairly recent history, but it is the best example that comes to my mind. Recently, robots or automated systems have been taking lots of people's jobs, resulting in jobs that are no longer needed in the workforce. For example, the company Amazon uses almost as many robots as humans now.

Example from Science - Dolly the Sheep was the first mammal to be cloned. This marks the beginning of clones. Who knows, in the future clones may rebel against people and we will have a conflict like that.

Example from science - When Nicolaus Copernicus developed the theory that the Earth revolves around the sun. For fear of being branded a heretic, he waited until he was about to die to publish a book on the matter. After his death, the church suspended his book and tried to silence any arguments that he was right.

Example from a movie - In the movie Rocky (1976) main character Rocky Balboa gets chosen by heavyweight boxing champion Apollo Creed solely based upon his nickname (The Italian Stallion) after Creed's rival had a health issue. Everyone expected Rocky to lose and get humiliated, but Rocky proved them wrong. He went 15 rounds with Creed and lost by split decision, proving that he was in fact, as good as Creed.

Example from history - Franklin Roosevelt because at the beginning of his term, he had a very tough decision to make. He had to decide whether to enter WW2 or not.
Example from literature - The Tell Tale Heart. The protagonist struggles with himself and debates whether he is sane or not after murdering an old man for pretty much no reason.
Definition - Man vs self is when somebody is struggling with a crucial decision or is battling with themselves in some way.
Conflict is important because it is what gives the story it's suspense. If you have no conflict, then you have no struggle. If you have no struggle, then your story will bore people to sleep.
