Conflict & Change
The Spanish colonies settled in Central and South America. They used Native Americans for work, but soon native Americans died from disease. Therefore, they used African Americans for slaves which potentially started the process of Slavery.
-
Stono Rebellion- because the slaves created and performed a plan to attack the whites, Slaves were not able to travel without papers of documentation and permission from their master. Along with that slaves could not learn to read or write, meet in big groups, and make their own food.
Regulators were a citizen group in the upcountry that tried to provide law, order, and justice to the people, by doing that they basically became the police of the town. Many people took the police act to far, in which they were killing many people for no reason at all. Since this occurred, the Circuit Court Act was established in which they set up 7 court districts.
Yemassee- since this tribe was located near the coast, they lived on the beach and had a clam, and oyster diet.

Global Connections
Mercantilism-the idea that states the mother country should export more than it imports and make more money then its sending out. We still use this when it comes many things. Let’s say you’re selling cakes and you’re constantly getting more to sell cause you aren’t selling enough. You are the mother country and you want to export more cakes than you import. So you don’t have random cakes sitting everywhere.
-
Low-country- since the low-country was located along waterways in Charleston and they were a port city. They were a port city, so they were more populated, and more fortunate.
Eastern Woodlands- Since the Eastern Woodlands lived on the east coast they had access to river, trees, and hides. Therefore, they farmed and had Permanent Villages.

-
Low and upcountry- The Low Countries we’re very wealthy, they had very nice houses and farming was at its greatest. The upcountry has the exact opposite with very little houses, very little farming and education was at it lowest. The differences in power weren’t so much as a government power but as a society the low country was community wise stronger than the upcountry.
Music- Slave invented most everything on our planted one being Music. Slaves would do something called a call and respond. Going to a Black church the main person singing would sing a part and the group will follow by either answering the leader or relating the leader l
Art- along with making music slaves also made wood carving, and danced ALOT all the new dances that come out on a day to day basis that everyone knows more likely came from the slaves in some way shape or form.
Cherokee -the Cherokee tribe was one of the biggest tribes with over 400 people, meaning war against them was nearly impossible, the power that they had was amazing. Which made them automatically higher in society
Eastern woodlands- the eastern woodlands were the first tribe to have a slash and burn agriculture meaning they had a permanent living space. This caused them to have lots of power when it came to society. They were the first to not live a hunters and gathers lifestyle.
