Another one would be schools because they might run school different than here because they might have dress code and they might do things a lot different than here
And the last one is language because not all of us in the world speaks the same language because that's part of our location and geography and tradition

another global connection is the slave trade and its when you are trading slaves across the world to another place

the Europeans wanted to have slaves to do their plantation work for them and the African Americans didn't want that and they would have to change to being forced and working in the fields all day and getting nothing
