Golden Syrup
Compared to a cup of caster sugar, you can use 25% less golden syrup and get the same amount of sweetness!
Golden syrup has a strong flavour so you don't have to use as much to achieve that flavour, which means less bad fats get into your system.
One teaspoon of golden syrup contains 60 calories, so you can have a small amount of golden syrup as a replacement of sugar

Red food colouring
Colourful
Colourful foods often look more appetizing than plain foods without food colouring. We need our to be colourful so not only our space bars taste great in outer-space, but also to make them look good for the astronauts too! Often when things look nice, they taste nicer for the person as well.
Diluted in the Water
We diluted the food colouring in water to make the colour less bold and bright. It faded to a soft pink colour that we thought made them less aggressive than plain red.
Plain Flour

Enriched grain
Health experts believe that we should replace whole grains with enriched grains because they boost our fibre intake.
Boiling Water
Liquid
The water makes the muesli bar stick together and is the supplement for the butter that is needed in the original recipe making it healthier for the astronauts.
