This shows that Marium was not scared. It is like she thinks that she faced things way more terrible then death in her life. She was not scared to face what would happen to her anyway.

This shows that Marium shows some form of regret for what she did. It seems that she felt bad for everyone besides Rasheed. It sees that she still loves Zalmai even if he is like his dad.

My final thoughts of the book is that the book is good but it is full of despair besides at the end. But in the end it seems that it is best for the entire to be like how it is.
