After the collapse of the empire, Mexico was ruled by three military men: Guadalupe Victoria, Nicolás Bravo and Pedro Negrete. They stop the elections to create a new constitutional congress, and then, create a constitution. After that, Two factions emerged, the Federalist (liberals) and Centralist (Conservatives).
