The more HIV, the more Thelper cells gets infected.
After some time, HIV getd into the bloodstream and tissues of the body and manipuate the cell's DNA thereby make more copies of the virus.
A HIV patient like the man could be prone to all kinds of sickness like flu, sorethorat, headache, inflammation and weakness.
Also it is important to note that our immune system will start to make antibody in response to this virus. This will give the T helper cells some time to recover.
HIV virus attacks and destroys the CD4 cells (our T helper cells) thereby slowing down the function of the immune system.
-
Downstream effect will be: Prolong sickness, excessive loss of weight, prone to other diseases and infection(AIDS defining sicknesses)
If HIV/AIDS is not properly treated, it could lead to death.
-
If the CD4 is essentially low and to the point where the immune system is no functional, this will result to AIDS(Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome)
For AIDS, the HIV infection of the T helper cell triggers a self destructive sequence on the T helper cells and eventually to all the immune system of the body.
