Promises that Bind us Together
Macey Ibalio, my sister
My sister promises to always be there for me as she is also one of my best friends. When there's no on to turn to, I know my sister is there for me.
My sister fulfills this promise by always being someone that I'm able to talk to no matter what. When I'm feeling sad, or when she's feeling sad, we call each other and support each other even if she's 300+ miles away in Southern California
Fidelito Ibalio, my dad
My dad promises me that he will feed me, give me shelter, food, and love me,
Everyday my dad puts food on our table and cares for both me and my grandparents.
God
God promises to always love me and be good to me. If there is something for me in His will, then it will happen.
God has showered me with blessings like my family and friends and safety. This shows me that God is always watching over me and loves me.
Ann V. Chavez, my mom
Like my dad, my mom promises to care for me and love me no matter what. She promises the roof over my head and the food on my table, as well as her presence in my life.
My mom is always there for me and also puts food on my table when I'm with her. She cares for me as her son and provides me with so much even if I can't give back anything in return.
Miranda Ly, my friend from Grade School
Miranda promises to be someone that I can always turn to have a good laugh. She promises to stay by my side for our entire life.
Since she's at another school, it's not everyday I see her. When we do meet up, we're always talking, teasing, and making fun of each other, reminding me that we were/are the best of friends since middle school.
1462 Salamanca Ave., my mom's house
1462 Salamanca Ave promises to always be my second home. It promises to shelter me from the rain and cold winds, something that some others don't have.
Every night I go to bed with the comfort of knowing that there's a roof over my head and places to sleep and places to eat.
Moreau Catholic, my high school
Moreau promises to be a place where I can learn to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. It also promises to be a safe place for me whenever there's something happening at home.
Everyday I come to school knowing that I'll be surrounded by friends who love me and teachers that care about me. It's somewhere that makes me happy.
Kale Sinay, my friend from Grade School
Kale promises to stick by my side as one of my close friends. He promises to make me laugh, smile, and feel good about myself and his presence.
Even though we act like we hate each other, I'm always right next to him, especially when it comes to football and schoolwork. We're there for each other's company and friendship.
2191 Dexter Ct, my dad's house
2191 Dexter Ct promises to always be my home, no matter where I am on Earth. It will be my home even if I'm at my other home.
Whenever I'm at my dad's house, I'm always greeted by my grandparents. My bed and food wait for me to enjoy, and the TV is always loud enough that it is deafening to my ears (but just fine for my grandparents).
Kami, my dog
My dog promises to be obedient and always there for me.
Whenever I call my dog's name, she follows my voice. When I tell her to come over to me, she's at my feet. She just doesn't know that many tricks, but I still love her anyway.
Brendan Kane, my friend from Grade School
Brendan promises to sit at the same lunch table with me everyday and be someone I can be extremely open with. He promises to listen to me.
Everyday we have the same lunch schedule. We always share what happened to us that day or what we think about. There's barely any secrets between us because of how open we can be with each other.
Steffen Kuehn, my trumpet and former band teacher
Mr. Kuehn promised to me that I will continue to prove as a trumpet player. This includes improving my range and my intonation, as well as having fun.
He fulfills this promise by giving me 1:1 lessons and encouraging me to continue playing the trumpet as something I enjoy doing, not as something I HAVE to do.
