It is traditional, anonymous, and variable.
Often learned from other kids at school as many deaf children did not learn deaf culture from their parents.
Usually consists of a fusion of their national heritage and their deaf heritage, hence why folklore is different based on the country.
Structure of Folklore

May differ from prestigious written languages, but is often a good representation of Deaf culture.
Folklore vs Literature

Sometimes, it is said that literature is better because it's "more respectable" and related to high education which folklore is uneducated and has no links to high culture.
Folklore uses conventional themes without trying to bury them whereas literature tries to hide the, with thinly veiled twists.
Cannons of Deaf Folklore
