My Web of Promises
My sister: Gabrielle
- We have an unspoken promise to always be there for one another and always have each other's backs.
- For example, when I was younger my sister had a girl in her class that was bullying her. Being the older sister that I am, I confronted the girl and told her to stop being mean to my sister. This is an example of a time that I had
My parents: Robert and Connie Diroll
My parents have a promise to me that they will always take care of me, love me, and help me become the best person I can become.
My parents support the decisions that I make and are always honest with me. For example, when I wanted to quit a team my parents forced me to stay in it because they wanted to show me that when we commit to something we have to follow through.
Best Friend: Hannah
She promises me to always be there for me if I need to talk to someone and to make me laugh.
When I need to talk to someone about something that I don't want to talk about with family, I always call Hannah and we talk for hours. I really appreciate this because I always can talk to her about my life.
Teammates
They promise to always do their best when we play together and trust me as a player during games.
Coaches
My coaches promise to help make me a better player by giving advice and coaching me.
When we play games or are at practice, my coaches motivate me to be the best that I can be in a positive way and coach me to be a better player.
Teachers
My teachers promise to support and help me with my subjects if I have questions or need more support.
Ms. Greenbaum always answered my question in math class in a way that I could understand and was available there to support me when I needed it.
Extended Family
Although I am not necessary "close" with all of my extended family members, I know that they promise to support me and be there for me.
An example of this is when my parents both had to go on a business trip, my uncle came to take care of my sister and me for a week. We went out for dinner every night!
My school friends
My school friends promise to make my happy and help me anything, like homework and personal struggles.
My school friends make me laugh and joke around with me all throughout school. For example, we sit together at lunch and talk about our classes and school stress.
God!
MCHS
Parish: Holy Spirit Church
The Parish made a promise to allows be a place of prayer, be a spiritual refuge for me, and support me grow spiritual.
When I need some time to myself and want to be with God, I will go to mass at Holy Spirit and connect with God. I also go to Confirmation where my friends and I grow our relationships with Jesus and God.
They keep this promise by supporting and encouraging me before the games and not getting upset if I make a mistake, but also keep me accountable.
God promises to always be there for me and guide me through my hardships.
God keeps this promise by listening to my prayers every night and heal me when I am hurt by something. For example, when one of my family members died I was very sad and didn't want to be around other people. But God and time gave me healing and helped me get through it.
MCHS promises to give me a quality Catholic education, opportunities of activities for me to participate in, and help me grow in a supportive and encouraging environment.
MCHS has provided great teachers that help and support me, a Catholic education, and life-long friendships.
Alisa
Alisa promises to let me talk (or rant) about my struggles and stress, make me laugh when I need it and have a good time with me.
During my freshman year at MCHS, Alisa and I had to stay late after school. We became very close and talked to each other about our problems, as well as make funny inside jokes.
