The Great Depression
The United States was at it's peak economically in the 1920's until 1929 when the stock market crashed.

World War II
The discovery of nuclear energy (Hiroshima and Nagasaki) and the expansion of it
Since the beginning of human existence, humans have abused the land tremendously. Trees and mountain tops have been cut, rivers have been dammed, and buildings have been built.
Due to the destruction of land, animal extinction is expected to increase by 55%. Furthermore, the destruction of land has also resulted in more CO2 in the environment which has caused severe weather changes. As imagined, this not only affects animals but humans as well.
Ever since the United States began using nuclear energy as a form of destruction over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the usage of nuclear energy has increased. Many countries have created bombs but dropping the bombs can annihilate millions of people and the surrounding area. When dropped, these bombs send a harmful debris into our atmosphere that blocks the suns rays which can result in a "nuclear winter." This puts human life in danger.
Drugs, synthetic fabrics, pesticides, and plastics have all been synthesized.
When the Earth is absorbing all of these artificial chemicals, there are a handful of side effects, especially on us humans and our environment as a whole. Since our environment is affected by this, this can potentially ruin our land that will no longer enable us to utilize it for agricultural reasons. In addition, if the land continues to be destructed by the synthesization of artificial chemicals, animals and their homes are all put at risk as well.
Green New Deal
Democrats are fighting to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases put into the air to reduce climate change and improve human life.
The Green New Deal has the intentions of improving human life to the fullest. This includes passing new legislation that is fighting for having clean water and food accessible everywhere, a sustainable life, higher paying jobs, and building infrastructure.
oppression of minorities
Over the years there has been a massive amount of awareness for the racism minorities face. These minorities include African Americans, Muslims, and the LGBTQ+ community, and much more.
Throughout the Anthropocene, there have been several rallies, protests, and marches. African Americans are constantly standing up for their community through the Black Lives Matter Movement to go against police brutality to show that it should not be acceptable for anybody to be treated the way they are. Muslims are also standing their grounds when it comes to showing that they are a harmless group of people and they should not be perceived as terrorists. The LGBTQ+ community is also beginning to become more accepted as the years pass by and events such as WorldPride are now major steps forward in society.
Overpowering of the government
World War II
Overtime society has seen several different forms of government. For instance, World War II was a time of complete dictatorship with power in the hands of one man, which resulted in the loss of millions of people, specifically the Jewish community. People felt like they lost a voice and they were even fearful of leaving their own home too. Luckily, a majority of the world has a democratic system in place where people have power and freedom too.
When the stock market crashed, numerous Americans became homeless, they could not afford food or clothes, and many were unemployed. This was the biggest decline in America's history. After such a tragic event, America took several years to recover and we are constantly improving on ways to avoid an event like that from ever happening again.
