Plot
The series of related events that make up the narrative
character
the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.
Exposition
A comprehensive description and explanation of an idea or theory.
Antagonist
a person who actively opposes or is hostile to someone or something
conflict
a serious disagreement or argument, typically a protracted one
.
internal conflict
refers to a characters internal struggles
Foil
A character who contrast with another character usually a protagonist.
Climax- the point of greatest emotional intensity
or suspense in a plot when the outcome
of the conflict becomes known
Falling action-The parts of a story after the climax and before the very end
resolution-the quality of being determined or resolute.
External conflict- a struggle that takes place between the main character and some outside force.
Third person limited-the narrator only knows the thoughts and feelings of one character.
Point of view-a particular attitude or way of considering a matter.
Foreshadow-be a warning or indication of a future event.
rising action- a series of relative events that create suspense.
Protagonist-the main figure or one of the most prominent figures in a real situation.
Third person omniscient- a method of storytelling in which the narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of all of the characters in the story.
flashback- a scene in a movie book etc, that is set in an earlier time period than the main story
