The book's story
in the first part of the book, Winston is a typical men who lives in Oceania and he works at Ministry of Truth. With the passing of time, he starts to write a diary, initially directed to O'Brien, a his co-worker. Writing the diary, Winston realise that he is writing a invective against the Big Brother and the Oceania's society.
Successively O'Brien invite Winston and Julia at his house in order to make them part of the confraternity, the main organisation against the distopic society and The Big Brother. They decide to read the Goldstein's book, the book of the main enemy of the society, but while they are reading it, some psico-police men enter in the room and arrest Winston. Among the police men there is also Cherrington, who is in reality a psico-police spy.
After a while, he notices Julia, a 25 years old girl with dark hair
who often chase him.
Winston initially thinks that she is a member of the psico-police but later he change his mind, because she send to him a note where she declares him her love.
Winston and Julia decide to continue their rebellion and to stay together in a peaceful place, so they rent a room by Mr. Charrington, an antique shopman.
the last part of the book take place in the Ministry of Love, where Winston is imprisoned.
Here we discover that O'Brien is a member of the psicopolice and he has to convince Winston to follow the Big Brother doctrine.
But Winston is very sure about his thoughts, for this reason O'Brien passes many time with him.
after the 'Rehabilitation', O'Brien goes so far as to torture Winston with rats to complete the procedure before the of him
