If it’s design doesn’t look like the official website
don’t trust it
Put in some random username or password in the website that nobody owns and if it goes through correctly you know the websites trying to get your information
Check the domain name of the website links
you click on and if it’s not the exact same as the official website don’t click on it or trust it
Spyware
Monitors what you do on the internet.
Then sends back to a central computer that
then targets you with advertisements you might
click on.

Use a secure browser. For example internet explorer
is a huge target for scams, viruses, hackers, and such.
Be careful with what you click on your
computer don’t just click on things like random links, pop ups, or ads without even looking at them or checking if you can trust it or if it’s a good idea or acknowledging the dangers of clicking on it
Install stuff on your computer like
a firewall, anti virus, or a detection/intrution
provention software but make sure you can trust
the stuff you install on your computer before you
install them
Trojan Horse
Programs that might even have
an actual purpose, but do more than just that.
Trojans can delete data, security through agreements, relay spam or porn, and even effect your computer

Don’t download or install programs unless
you completely trust the program with your information

Worm
A virus that replicates itself over a network. Often received through email, reads your address book, then sends a copy of themselves to others in your address book showing up as it were you. Used to deliver viruses or it might be a virus because the terms are interchangeable

Make sure you have a good network password and security for your network because it gets on to your computer through your network and if your network has no security then it can go right in
