DEFINITION
A disease that is cancerous as kidney cells grow out of control developing a tumour that is malignant.

PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
Adencarcinoma may be due to metastasis from cancers of the colon, prostate and bladder cancer.
Tumour develops from tubules can grow into renal veins sto renal pelvis where it will cause painless haematuria.

TREATMENT
RADICAL NEPHRECTOMY
Performed through a small incision using a laparoscope to remove the kidney, adrenal gland and tissues around.

DIET

High protein foods e.g. peanut butter, milkshakes, sauces, gravies, meats, cheeses and whole milk.
NURSING MANAGEMENT

The nurse must be advised by the doctor on what information or assistance to provide to the patient.
The nurse must inform the patient about complications that may occur after the surgery e.g. bleeding. clotting.
